This is a fashion house! Karl Lagerfeld's former German mansion is coming to market for €10,000,000 pounds - complete with the Chanel designer's luxurious finishing touches

A luxurious villa that once belonged to fashion icon Karl Lagerfeld, 84, in northern Germany has come onto the market - with all the luxury you would expect from the man at the helm of Chanel.

Listed by Hamburg real estate agent Engel & Völkers, the 12,000 m² property offers stunning views of the Elbe and is full of design attributes selected by Karl during his time in the lavish home.

Priced at €10m (£8m), the 1920s mansion was originally built as a single-storey home in 1924 for Hanseatic shipping insurer Hermann Witte, before a lawyer commissioned architect Walther Baedeker to add a second level for bedrooms three years later.

Karl, who only lived in the Elbe-view villa for three months in the seven years he owned it (between 1989 and 1997), is not the current owner, but has opened up about it in Angel & Völkers magazine talked about why he sold the property this month.
